Take On Me Multi-Track (2025)

Dive into one of the most iconic synth-pop productions of all time with this meticulously crafted multi-track reconstruction of Take On Me by Doctor Mix. Originally released in 1985 by a-ha, the song became a defining anthem of the decade thanks to its soaring vocals, unforgettable synth hooks, and groundbreaking music video. This recreation captures every nuance of the original production in stunning detail, making it one of the deepest and most complete reconstructions in the collection.

Rebuilding the track was a true labour of love, using a carefully selected combination of classic hardware and vintage-inspired production techniques to recreate the unmistakable sound of the original recording. The session features sounds inspired by legendary instruments including the Roland TR-808, Yamaha DX7, Roland D-50, Sequential Trigon-6, and classic LinnDrum samples, alongside acoustic and electric guitar layers that helped shape the song’s signature energy and texture.

Alongside the complete multi-track session, this pack also includes the master, pre-master, and MIDI files for both the synth and drum parts, giving you the flexibility to recreate, remix, study, and reimagine the track inside your own DAW. Whether you're a producer, synth enthusiast, or lifelong fan of 1980s pop production, this collection offers an immersive look inside the arrangement and sound design behind one of the most beloved pop songs ever recorded.

Produced from scratch by Doctor Mix. Every part was re-played and re-recorded in our London studio — this session contains no samples, stems or audio taken from the original master recording.
